Hand Crafted Model Trees

Our model trees include Aspens and Maples in both summer foliage and a variety of autumn colors as well as models of evergreen trees. The trunks of our model trees are made of basswood with a nail inserted in the bottom for mounting into scenery. The vegetation is made up of both manmade and preserved museum quality natural materials. The pictures below show our standard design for each model tree. | We designed the model at left to represent the Ponderosa Pine seen throughout the west. It has an oval shape with a closed, rounded crown. The foliage is green-blue and the trunk is reddish-brown with a dark side and a light side. | |||||||

The model at right has a similar design. It has a rose-like, open crown. The foliage is medium green and the trunk is a brown-grey. We based the look on the mature White Pine that is native to the east. |

Two of our most popular model trees are shown at left. They have the classic cone shape many associate with an evergreen. We call them our Spruce. The trunk is brown-grey and the models come with either dark green or light green foliage.

Although we call the model at right a Fir, it represents a variety of conifers. It has a brown-grey trunk and medium green foliage. It is a narrow tree with full growth on the top two thirds of the tree and dead limbs at the bottom.

lodgepole pine

The trunk on the model Lodgepole Pine is a deep reddish brown with a dark side and a light side. The foliage is a brownish green with the bottom third of the trunk having only dead limbs. |

The Blue Spruce is found throughout the Rocky Mountain area and is also seen planted as a decorative tree in yards everywhere. This model has a brown-grey trunk and thick silver blue foliage that darkens to a deep green near the trunk. |

Our Aspen and Maple* models are seen below in summer green. They are also available in a variety of fall foliage colors.

Our Maple represents a young, healthy tree with a central trunk. It has a grey trunk and medium green foliage. *Maples are available only in 3" through 10" sizes. |
